Due to the COVID-19 restrictions this Neighbourhood Plan will not go to Referendum before May 2021, but will be Examined following the Regulation 16 consultation and will then assume to have significant weight in the planning process

July / August 2020


Runnymede Borough Council will now consult under Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations Act 2012.


26th June 2020


Thorpe Neighbourhood Plan and all supporting documents were submitted to Runnymede Borough Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations Act 2012.

May 2020


In view of comments received from Runnymede planning department some mnor modifications were made to the plan. The Sustainability report was received and amended following RBC comments and all documents checked and collated.

April 2020


The Forum prepared to submit the plan to RBC under reg 15 and due to Covid 19 were unable to hold a meeting with the forum so submission was agreed by e mail.

Jan - March 2020


The forum and the steering group analyised the responses to the Reg 14 consultation and included all relevant ones in the plan or noted necessary changes.

Draft Neighbourhood Plan Consultation


This consultation is being undertaken in accordance with Regulation 14 of The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The comments from this consultation will be taken into account by Thorpe Neighbourhood Forum at the end of the consultation period.


This consultation starts on 8th November 2019 and ends at 5pm on 20th december 2019 over the statutory period of 6 weeks.

Open Event


We are holding an open event:


  • Fri 9th March 3pm - 8pm
  • Sat 10th March 11am - 4pm


We are now in the process of developing the Plan for the village. Before we procced much further, you are invited to attend an open event where we will share with you our thoughts and ideas on the key focus areas for the Plan. We are keen to listen to your views and get your valued feedback.


All residents and business employing staff within the Thorpe Designated Area are welcome to attend.


The Plan will impact how our village develops in the future. We look forward to welcoming you and hearing your views.

If you live or work within the Designated Area of the Thorpe Neighbood Forum you will be receiving a questionnaire in the next day or so. We are still at an early stage with the forum and so therefore before progressing further would like to consult with you and gather your views on a range of issues. Thorpe Neighbourhood Forum and designated area approved


On the 24th August 2016, Runnymede Borough Council approved the application for the Thorpe Neighbourhood Form establishment and the supporting designated area. With the new Local Plan being developed, the Thorpe Neighbourhood Forum has a key role in helping to influence what we require in terms of development within the community across a range of areas including community projects, housing, our living environment and amenities.
